Jordan Samuel Skin make perfect, high quality cleansers for all skin types. No matter what you prefer, how you like to use them or which step of your cleansing routine you’re looking to enhance, you will find a Jordan Samuel formula to do the job.

Cleansing is the base of any good facial treatment and skincare routine, it’s important to ensure all make up and SPF is removed and that your skin is clean without stripping it dry.

As a general rule of thumb, in the Jordan Samuel Skin world. Aftershows are better suited to a first cleanse for makeup and SPF removal and Matinees tend to be better suited to a second or morning cleanse.

Having said that, I love these formulas so much I find I often use them depending on how my skin is feeling. Remember these are guides and there aren’t any hard and fast rules here, just listen to your skin. If you like using Aftershow as your second cleanse and it works for you- go for it!

The After Show Treatment Cleanser

This is the first cleanser that Jordan launched, and previously known as Plie is what I call the loyalty builder. Once you try this gel to balm/oil cleanser, it’s impossible not to reorder as you run out, and makes you want to explore the rest of the range too!

The After Show Treatment Cleanser Sensitive

This has all the same qualities of the former, with one key exception. It is fruit extract free, meaning there is not exfoliation or fragrance, making it better suited to anyone who avoids these ingredients but also if you like to remove eye makeup with a balm.

It’s brilliant if you still want a luxury makeup removing experience but your skin is sensitised. I reach for it more in the winter or when using hardcore actives like topical prescription retinoids.

The Matinee Gel Cleanser

The Matinee Gel Cleanser is the only JS cleanser that for me, sits strongly in the second/AM cleanse category. This is not the makeup remover you are looking for. It’s an elevated gel face wash, it doesn’t dry the skin out but instead cleanses, refines and refreshes the skin.

It really comes into its own in summer when all I want is a cooling cleanser to prep my skin, but be warned a little goes a long way!

It’s best suited to a normal/combo oily skin but there isn’t any particular reason why anyone with dry skin who prefers a gel cleanser couldn’t use it.

The Matinee Cream Cleanser

The Matinee Cream Cleanser is the newest addition to the range and perfectly fills the gap in the cleansing offer (and my cleansing routine, tbh). It’s not like cleansing creams of old, where they feel heavy and barely clean the skin. This is a purifying and hydrating cream cleanser.

Though it removes light makeup, it is better suited to a second or morning cleanse, and you may prefer to use it instead of a gel in the winter, however as I’ve been sick the past month, sometimes all I’ve been able to do is one step before rolling into bed, and this, teamed with a flannel has kept my skin happy all the way through. Winner.

Great if you have a preference to a more hydrating second cleanse or a AM cleanse.

Thats it! It’s pretty simple but sometimes having products broken down can really help understand which products you are more likely to adore, and those that aren’t best suited to your skincare needs!

If you want to build a Jordan Samuel cleansing routine (I highly recommend it)- pick an Aftershow and a Matinee and let your skin thank you later! Let me know how you get on over on Instagram here!
