Well this is exciting! Biossance have some great newness for the UK this year but this has to be my favourite of them all so far! The Squalane + BHA Pore Minimizing Toner is a liquid chemical exfoliant designed to refine the skin in a non- stripping, hydration infused formula.

I prefer it applied onto a cotton pad and taken over my face, with a focus on any areas my skin is either breaking out in or prone to congestion. The brand do however say you can apply directly and pat in, and this is the only liquid exfoliant I would say that would actually work as a method of application.

As I was testing this for the post, I found that this is best for you if you struggle with breakouts, be it blackheads or active pimples and/or are concerned with how visible and large your pores appear. Whilst nothing will make them smaller, using a BHA product like this will help to reduce their appearance and keep them clean.

They don’t actually disclose the percentage of salicylic acid (which is totally fine by me! they are now often mistaken for measuring the efficacy of  a product is which can be more misleading that it appears at first glance), but it’s safe to assume this sits between 1-2%, proven by the results.

If you find you’ve struggled with other BHA products for being too stripping, this may be worth trying because the combination of squalane, cucumber and lavender extract are soothing and hydrating, which allows the Salicylic Acid to get to work without stripping the skin.

The Biossance Squalane + BHA toner launches in the UK around late summer/early autumn so keep your eyes peeled! I’ll update this post with a link as soon as it goes live.

Biossance is cruelty free (like all skincare sold in the UK). The brand is available at Selfridges stores and online, Cult Beauty, Sephora and Biossance.com.
