I’m not entirely sure what I did before this range existed. Born from the success of the two step Alpha Beta peel franchise, this edited trio of product has lived up to the very high expectations it set itself up for.
This glow enhancing, clarity inducing range utilises the same AHAs and BHAs that we know and love but delivers them so our skin can benefit beyond what the peels take care of.

Alpha Beta Cleansing Gel
This is the cleansing gel that got me back into using a rinse off cleanser, it is so far from the foamy gel cleansers I would run a mile from for being too stripping. Alpha Beta Cleansing Gel is a soap and sulphate free cleanser which feels closer to a typical face wash. It lathers up, and a little goes a long way and rinses away clean.
It’s better suited to oily/combination, blemish prone skin but I think almost every skin type could benefit from this. I use it as a second cleanse, because as much as I love acid, I’ve no intention of finding out how well it removes eye makeup. I let my first cleanse take care of that (sidenote- the Meltaway cleanser is a great choice for this). I also reach for it in the shower as a AM cleanser beacuse it feels so invigorating and refreshing with a light citrusy scent, I know it’s cleaning my skin properly without stripping. The 225ml bottle is worth every penny, it lasts for ages even if like me, you use more than you need to.
Alpha Beta Pore Perfecting Serum
So no one loves their pores, but if you are really struggling with blackheads or clogged skin this is your new dream product. Alpha Beta Pore Perfecting Serum uses 7 Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids to exfoliate and regenerate the skin whilst a pore perfecting complex of 6 ingredients including phytic acid and prickly pear extract get into the pore lining to dissolve the waxy plugs causing uneven texture and breakouts.
Makeup applies better, skin looks smoother and the clinical trials on this are incredible because they show a huge improvement in the appearance of pore size, whilst nothing can ever actually change the size of your pores this is the closest a product has ever come to the perfect skin maintenance.
Alpha Beta Pore Perfecting Moisturiser, previously Exfoliating Moisturiser
I slept on this for the longest time. I would avoid exfoliating moisturisers because I didn’t see the point if I preferred using liquid peels and chemical exfoliants; Well this moisturiser does so much more than just exfoliate. It deeply hydrates and nourishes the skin without feeling heavy or greasy. Again, this uses Alpha and Beta hydroxy acids but combines them with hydrating ceramides, squalane and hyaluronic acid to be the the perfect base for makeup application. It’s JLO in a jar. Yes, even over her actual products. 😉

I hope this helped break down the Alpha Beta Pore Perfecting skincare range at Dr. Dennis Gross.I’d love to hear your thoughts on Dr. Dennis Gross on Instagram and if you’d like to discover the brand in more detail you can check out the takeover here.
