So we’ve all had major shelfie envy after seeing Gisou haircare on Instagram, riiight? Well thankfully that is over now that the brand has launched their entire range in the UK!
Co-founded by influencer Negin Mirsalehi, the range is inspired by fusing together her Persian heritage (Gisou means hair in Persian!) and haircare rituals with her family business of beekeeping for six generations.
Gisou first launched in 2015 with their now bestselling hero product- The Honey Infused Hair Oil which was inspired by a honey formula that her mum used to make in their kitchen, Negin attributes this for her love of haircare and luscious locks too!

The edited product selection spans two key ranges- Propolis and Honey, both of which are sustainably sourced from the Mirsalehi family bee garden in the Netherlands. The Honey infused haircare products are designed to repair, moisturise and strengthen hair by utilising the versatility of the natural ingredient known for it’s vitamin and mineral rich properties.

I first tried the range in Amsterdam at brilliant retailer Babassu Beauty back in 2019 and fell in love with the hair perfume and hair oil. I’ve since been using four of the products and wanted to share my thoughts below in case you were considering taking a look at the products!
Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil
The one that launched a superbrand… this hair oil is the backbone of their customer loyalty and that too, for good reason. The lightweight, yet hydrating formula promotes healthy, nourished hair with the combination of honey, almond oil and gardenia extract, whether you use it as neat as a finishing product after styling, to massage or ‘boost’ a conditioner, I can’t see anyone who wouldn’t get on with it.
Gisou Honey Infused Hair Perfume
The product that stopped me in my tracks… being surrounded by beauty products daily can lead me to be quite dismissive about certain products and categories and as such I didn’t really ‘get’ the point of hair perfume until I tried this. Spraying fragrance in the hair is one of my favourite tips but depending on the fragrance, it can be drying and damaging because they aren’t designed for the hair. The Gisou formula is a honey and argan oil infused fragrance which is a great balance of sweet and floral. I think you’ll like this if you love fragrance and want one specifically for your hair, want to scent your strands without causing dryness or even a quick refresh between washes.

Gisou Honey Infused Hair Mask
The once a week intensive treatment…I’ve only used this twice, and think it’s better suited to someone with longer hair. But if you need a deeply moisturising mask, this is so good! It of course uses the Mirsalehi Bee Garden honey along with vitamin E, castor oil and gardenia extract to nourish the hair and scalp, I find it best used pre shampoo and can always skip a seperate conditioner.
Gisou Propolis Infused Wave Spray
The one working it’s way into the everyday routine…I LOVE a texturising mist, I’ve tried almost every one I can get my hands on and hate nothing more than a sticky, dying tacky mist that leaves me wanting to rewash my hair- I want grit and texture, not literal dirty hair. This propolis infused offering from Gisou is amazing for using on both damp and dry hair to add a boost of beachiness and volume, I always blow dry after and on occasion use it as a refreshing mist to restyle from day to night.
Have you tried any Gisou yet? Will you be picking it up now that it’s easier to find here in the UK? Let me know over on Instagram here!
