The Inkey List Succinic Acid Blemish/Acne Treatment is the newest (and perfectly timed) launch from the brand best known for it’s budget skincare products.

When I heard this was coming out I was a little confused because I had never heard of Succinic Acid before so I knew I’d have to try it to see if it lived up to the hype. As someone who tries new products daily I’m glad to see innovation in the topical treatment for blemishes, it seems as though there aren’t many new, trusted developments out there at the moment but this is yet another example of The Inkey List stepping up their product development.

If you’re a regular reader you’ll know how much I love the Votary Blemish Rescue Oil because its treats the blemish without drying it out whereas the majority of treatments will cause dryness.

In the time I’ve been testing this out it has really performed beyond my expectations. It hasn’t caused dryness, but cleared my breakouts using a triple pronged approach.

Succinic Acid targets inflammation and reduces the size of the blemish

Salicylic Acid exfoliates and clears pores

Sulfur draws impurities and soaks up excess oil

and there is a touch of Hyaluronic Acid which has prevented dehydration.

The product itself is a lightweight green cream (natural malachite and chlorella extracts so the shade may vary), it blends into the skin well if you use the right amount of product- don’t be tempted to cover yourself in it! Sure it’s fun on Tiktok but it’s a waste of product and becomes harder to blend away the green tint. It’s such a nice texture you’d be forgiven for thinking it was a serum.

How to use:

Apply to the blemish at the treatment stage of your routine, after cleansing and before moisturising. Use AM and PM. Do not apply straight from the tube, because hygiene.

The Inkey List Succinic Acid Blemish Treatment (Acne Treatment in the US) is available now on their website and Cult Beauty.
