Pat Mcgrath newness is always so exciting and this new addition to her Skin Fetish range is no exception. The Sublime Skin Highlighter is part of the Limited Edition Celestial Divinity collection for Christmas 2020 & as expected of Mother, she is bringing us DIVIIIIINE Opulence.
Described as a luminous champagne gold, this highlighter is encased in a weighted compact resembling gold bullion. It’s almost as if it has been taken directly from the vault of the mothership, complete with a signature Pat Mcgrath Hallmark. Major.

The highlighter is silky and glides onto the skin effortlessly, gently illuminating where applied leaving your skin drenched in a veil of candlelit glow. There is no glitter in sight, just pure luminous pearl and shimmer, compared to the highlighting trio this formula applies smoother and is less pigmented yet easily built up when using a dense angled brush. I team it with an Anastasia A23 brush.

Skin Fetish is all about beautiful, healthy looking skin and this is the perfect addition to the range. You’re not going to get an intergalactic highlight from this product, it’s much more wearable & gives you the option to build. The powder is a ‘proper’ powder, not a geleé formula (I wonder if this is why it’s not made in Italy?) I see this as being closer to Rose Gold- my all time favourite tone for highlighter, it’s the most universally flattering across any skin tone.
It’s not the most practical for keeping in your makeup bag but that is the point here. I am living for the old school hollywood glamour of it all, twisting open your pot of makeup and getting ready at your dressing table. Except this time it’s melanin friendly. 😉
Well, Pat’s done it again. This is the type of product I think of when I think of high end, luxury Christmas launches. I want the glamour, the gold and above all- a really good formula. I can see this selling out in record time, it’s really special and so giftable.
I’m inserting this picture of Pat and I because well, I don’t have an excuse- but why not right?!

I hope this remains limited edition, I can see it taking icon status and looking back on it for years to come like I do Dior Amber Diamonds (throwback!). What I DO however need is a compact version of this gold packaging on powder bronzers and highlighters. Can you imagine?!
Pat Mcgrath’s Christmas Collection, Celestial Divinity is now available from her website. The highlighter is £50 and available here.
I’d imagine Sephora and Selfridges will stock this any day now so I’ll keep this post updated for you.
