SUMMER FRIDAYS CC ME SERUM

Not just your average vitamin C serum...

Summer Fridays CC me serum is brilliant, and yet I left it until a year after launch to get it all over my face. Look, in my defence I have a *difficult* relationship with Vitamin C and because of this I wrote it off as not for me but great for practically everyone else.

CC me is a water based brightening serum, it offers antioxidant protection, hydration and luminosity. I prefer to think of it as a skin health optimizing serum instead of a vitamin C serum. This is not a basic ascorbic acid in silicone suspension, it’s major.

It uses 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid and Ascorbyl Glucoside as antioxidants and brightening vitamin C agents and combines them with Niacinamide for barrier repair and balancing and finishes off  with Squalane for a dewy glow and hydration. It kind of does it all. No need to use multiple products which seems to have become the norm in recent years. Much to my surprise it also doesn’t smell like most vitamin C’s (kind of like bacon/hot dog water) it has a faint smell of a citrusy cinnamon.

Summer Fridays CC me serum texture

I take 1-2 pumps across my face and neck and massage in after cleansing, it is a light lotion texture- not heavy at all but does leave behind a slight tackiness so I always follow up with a moisturiser and/or SPF. If you’re looking for a great moisturiser, unsurprisingly their Cloud Dew works well.

All things considered, this product is worth the hype. Like I mentioned in the initial Brand Takeover summary, this was their first non mask product and set the precedent for what was to come. It proved that Summer Fridays would create results driven formulas beyond their treatment masks- I’m yet to see Summer Fridays product I dislike.
